The American Society for Clinical Pathology’s Job Satisfaction, Well-Being, and Burnout Survey of Laboratory Professionals
Tuesday, June 30, 3:15pm EDT
Edna Garcia, MPH, ASCP
Laboratory professionals are critical members of the healthcare team. Their work impacts almost all aspects of patient care, from diagnosis to prevention and primary care. They also play a vital role on improving patient outcomes, effective test utilization, ensuring laboratory quality, and public health.
The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) conducted a survey on job satisfaction, well-being, and burnout to inform the field about the challenges that laboratory professionals encounter working in the laboratory and offer solutions to alleviate job stress and burnout. Findings from the survey also provided insights on how healthcare institutions can address these challenges and encourage professional organizations and entities related to the laboratory field to promote well-being and prevent burnout.
