ASCLS is proud to offer a new conference that is focused on women in the field of laboratory science- the Women of Laboratory Science Summit (WLSS).  The goal of this first ever summit is to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment where women in laboratory science can share experiences, exchange knowledge, and cultivate a network of supportive peers committed to advancing leadership.

WLSS 2025 is scheduled for October 18, 2025 at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, VA.

All Summit events will take place at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town, located in historic Alexandria, Virginia; convenient to King Street shops and restaurants, Reagan National Airport, and the King Street Metro stop (Blue and Yellow Lines). A block of rooms has been set aside for WLSS attendees. Accommodations for the Women of Laboratory Science Summit 2025 are $209 for single or double rooms, plus any additional applicable taxes. Our speaker and lead facilitator for this event is Tywauna Wilson, MBA, MLS(ASCP)CM 

Tywauna Wilson is a leadership strategist, coach, trainer, and champion for healthcare and laboratory professionals. She has over two decades of progressive medical laboratory experience with her most recent role serving as a technical director providing leadership over multiple clinical laboratory sites. As the founder of the Stand Out Leader Academy, creator of the Stand Out With Intent™ Leadership Framework, and President of Trendy Elite Coaching, Tywauna empowers emerging and mid-career professionals to lead with clarity, confidence, and impact. She is passionate about building future ready teams through intentional leadership, emotional intelligence, and well-being initiatives. She is the author of “Some Leaders Wear Lab Coats” and host of the “S.O.S For Leaders” and co-host of the “eLABorate Topics”  podcasts.
