Thank you for your support of ASCLS, and we look forward to another year to educate, motivate, celebrate, and labvocate with you.

ASCLS Responds to CLIAC Termination

ASCLS recently joined the Association of Public Health Laboratories in signing a letter to Secretary Kennedy urging the reinstatement of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC).

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) spokesperson recently confirmed CLIAC was terminated on March 31, 2025, in accordance with Executive Order 14217, “Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy.” G2 Intelligence reported this news on May 29, 2025.

The committee’s informed recommendations to the federal agencies that oversee the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) regulations are critical to ensuring relevant updates are made to CLIA as laboratory testing services and practice evolve. Without a forum to discuss needed improvements, CLIA regulations will become outdated and disconnected from current laboratory practice.

Congratulations to New ASCLS Officers and Leaders for the 2025-26 Society Year
