Meet the Candidates for ASCLS National Office
The ASCLS Nominations Committee is pleased to present the candidates for office in the 2025-26 Society year. Candidates selected by the House of Delegates will take office during the 2025 ASCLS, AGT & SAFMLS Joint Annual Meeting. Delegates will elect one president-elect; one secretary/treasurer; three 3-year term directors; one 5-year term member for the Judicial Committee; and six 2-year term members for the Nominations Committee.
Each candidate profile includes a short video. Candidates were asked to answer the following question in a two-minute video: What is one unique skill, experience, and/or expertise that sets you apart to lead ASCLS and the profession in the future?
In an effort to create more touch points between the candidates running for national positions and the members electing them to those positions, the ASCLS Nominations Committee has scheduled virtual Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions in April and May to provide an opportunity for members to ask questions of the candidates running for national positions.
The events are all free to members, but registration is required. Members will submit a question with their registration to ask the candidates for the Ask Me Anything events. The moderators will make efforts to ask the candidates as many questions as time allows. Members are also encouraged to submit a question to ask the candidates at the Virtual Meet and Greet.

ASCLS Announces Diagnostic Equity Collaboration
ASCLS is proud to collaborate with Diverse Health Hub to bring diagnostic equity to life through an innovative, public service-driven initiative. What began over 26 years ago within ASCLS as a grassroots effort to provide the public with clear, accessible insights into medical laboratory science now has a dynamic new digital home — expanding both its reach and impact.
Launching April 22, the Diverse Health Hub platform will offer patients and healthcare providers personalized explanations of lab results. This initiative empowers individuals to better understand their diagnostic tests and make informed decisions, while also supporting providers in navigating diagnostic challenges to improve patient care. This resource is made possible in large part thanks to the dedication and expertise of ASCLS members.
Ready to elevate the visibility of laboratory medicine? As part of this initiative, experts receive a secure, user-friendly dashboard where they can respond to patient questions by discipline in a flexible manner. Each response is reviewed, validated, and then returned to the individual—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and real impact.

Giving Your Voice Power
Why Supporting the ASCLS Political Action Committee (PAC) Matters
By April German, MLS(ASCP)CM, ASCLS Political Action Committee Chair
When I sat down with Rebecca Ross, MLS(AMT), a new ASCLS PAC member, we discussed why she joined ASCLS and why supporting the PAC is not just critical but empowering for laboratory professionals. Rebecca, a medical laboratory scientist with a master’s degree in healthcare law, understands firsthand the pivotal role of advocacy in shaping the future of our profession.
Rebecca, with her unique background, is acutely aware of the significant impact of legislative decisions on our daily operations. The laws and regulations on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) protections, cybersecurity, reimbursement policies, and licensure and certification requirements directly shape how we work. Without our input, these policies are being written, leading to unintended consequences for our profession. Read more.

They discuss an insomnia that kills you, blood flukes that alter the course of history, supplements that need better disclosures, and a true crime that’s inspired tv plots.
