NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: MARCH 15

PURPOSE

To recognize individuals or groups who make outstanding contributions to promoting and advancing medical laboratory science. This award highlights efforts that raise awareness, enhance the profession’s reputation, and drive its development.

ELIGIBILITY
  • ASCLS members, Constituent Societies, Regions, or Affiliated Groups; multiple submissions are allowed.
APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants submit digital images or webpages showcasing their most impactful original digital content. This can include:

  • Social media posts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Website content
  • Other creative digital media (e.g., podcasts, curriculum materials developed to inform about the clinical laboratory professions, videos)
  • Events planned

EVALUATION CRITERIA – for original digital media and webpages
  • Community Engagement – How well does it foster interaction and build a sense of community? For example, how does the content communicate and document:
    • collaboration opportunities within and across the organization, with other organizations
    • outreach (e.g., interprofessional, high school or college events)
    • mentorship, engagement with students or early-career professionals
  • Content Quality & Relevance – Is the content accurate, creative, and relevant to the target audience? For example, how does the submitted content address:
    • current challenges and/or emerging topics
    • professional development
    • feature experts on timely issues
  • Positive Influence – Does it inspire, educate, or uplift the audience? For example, how does the content
    • celebrate clinical laboratory professionals and their contributions
    • foster authenticity, inspiration to uplift and educate the audience
  • Authenticity & Transparency – Is the creator genuine and trustworthy in their messaging? For example, does the content include:
    • personal narratives
    • source documentation
    • pictures to record or chronicle the content’s authenticity
  • Measurable Impact – Can the content’s reach and positive outcomes be measured? For example, what is the community engagement’s impact on:
    • increasing interactivity, awareness and/or membership
    • addressing challenges
    • knowledge about the clinical laboratory and associated professions
    • knowledge about professional development and career opportunities
