Learn about things to see and do in Denver while you attend the 2022 Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference (CLEC), March 14-16. Postcards from Denver are presented by the CLEC Host Committee.

The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel is located on the 16th Street Mall, a mile-long pedestrian promenade with shopping, dining, and nightlife. You’ll find free shuttle buses, called the MallRide, that travel up and down the 16th Street Mall for easy transportation. The buses make stops on every corner, so it is easy to get on and off. Buses come and go every few minutes.

The mall offers 42 outdoor cafés, making it easy to grab a quick bite to eat or have a drink. The Denver Pavilions is a shopping and dining complex located two blocks (3-5 minute walk) from the Sheraton. It has more than two dozen shops and restaurants and movie theaters. At the north end of the mall, 16th Street continues as a pedestrian path over three bridges connecting downtown Denver to Commons Park and LoHi, a hip neighborhood with restaurants and brewpubs. Points of interest along the mall include the D&F Tower, a two-thirds replica of the Campanile of St. Mark’s in Venice that was the highest building west of the Mississippi when it was built in 1909.

After dark, horse-drawn carriages and pedicabs are seen along the mall, and almost a million lights twinkle above in the trees that line the 16th Street promenade.

Register for CLEC 2022 by January 14 and save $100 off the regular registration rate.
