Medical laboratory professionals from across the country will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, June 23-27, for the ASCLS-AGT 2019 Joint Annual Meeting. Known as the Queen City, Charlotte was founded in 1768 when we were still a British colony and named after the wife of King George III. Today it is North Carolina's largest city and home to Fortune 500 companies, the NFL Panthers, NBA Hornets, NASCAR, museums, theatre, outdoor concerts, and even the U.S. National Whitewater Center.

While steeped in history and southern hospitality, Charlotte is growing and changing. It's the perfect venue to host the new Annual Meeting experience and will give you many excuses to explore the city.

Haven for Foodies. Thanks to three local culinary institutes, Charlotte is home to some inventive dining options that range from authentic fried chicken to Carolina barbeque to farm-to-table creations.

Craft Beer Kingdom. The craft beer scene has exploded in Charlotte, too, and now includes 30 breweries (and counting). From pilsners and blondes to stouts and IPAs, you're sure to check a few off your beer bucket list.

The Need for Speed. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is located a few short blocks away from our host hotel. Celebrating the history and heritage of NASCAR, the high-tech, interactive attraction is designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike.

Art for All. Along with world-class musems, Charlotte is known for its public art displays that everyone can enjoy. Stroll through Uptown and you might be surprised to come across sparkling statues, literary-inspired whimsical direction signs, or impressive sculptures celebrating Charlotte's history.

Fun fact: Charlotte calls its downtown “Uptown,” because it is literally up hill. Head to Independence Square at the heart of the Center City; no matter which way you approach it, you’ll be moving gently upward.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Join your colleagues and friends for a night out at the ballpark to see the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox), take on the Gwinnett Stripers (Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves). This is a great chance to wrap up the exciting week of learning and engaging. Purchase your tickets for $12. Deadline to purchase tickets is June 16. Please note: this event is the same time as the Alpha Mu Tau dinner.

Join us in Charlotte this June and experience both the pride in our history and the excitement in our future. Register by June 7 and save $50 off the onsite rate.
